Horsemanship Honestly

  • Perfect Balance Riding 5920 Jerome Prairie Road Grants Pass, OR, 97527 United States (map)

Riding a horse can be a truly enlightening experience. It can also be scary, frustrating and many other emotions.

Although we don't enjoy this part of horses is truly part of the experience. The key is to use these things to build your relationship of trust with your horse. In this clinic I will give you ways to get through these events in positive and safe way and move on to the next thing.

Topics:

Why do you ride horses?  What you want from your horse and what your horse wants from you? How do you achieve the relationship you both want?

Stop, look, listen and be a good leader;  Are the you the leader your horse needs? Can you read your horses body language and use it positively?  Learn how to listen to your horse and speak horse through body language.  Most of all strive to stop making excuses and understand and embrace your fears. Learn how to join your horse in a meaningful partnership. Be boss mare, speak clearly but don't whisper, yell or mumble! Strive to always be to be firm yet fair.

Who’s in your barn today?  How do you deal with the fire breathing dragon that came out of the stall? Horses have days just like us, they need exercise and consistency in work and training.  Look at how you treat your horse and how he treats you.

How somethings become bad habits?  Over correcting, under correcting, pushy horses, doing things to fast or to slow.
