Lessons for Show & Pleasure
Excepting Intermediate and Advanced riders with your own horse or pony. Ages 9yrs and up with the goal of showing.
Show Riders; Form is function! A beautiful rider is a fuctional rider with quiet hands, a soft seat and good posture. Equitation is good riding and a perfect balance between horse and rider. We will work or collection and balance in your horse forming a good picture of horse and rider.
Pleasure riders; whether it is problem solving or building a better connection with your horse. Whatever your goal I strive for an intense and successful learning experience that generates results as well as giving you skills to work on between lessons. Action-packed sessions that create a better line of communication between you and your horse. I believe that smooth and effective cues with your hands, legs and seat develops clear and consice communication between you and your horse. In turn this makes your riding look and seem effortless.
Ranch Riding Lessons
Ranch riding is a new class being offered at many shows, it is designed to incorporate the skills of everyday ranch work. It includes simple patterns and trail courses that test your horsemanship. This includes pattern skills, poles, transitions, stops and turnarounds.
Ground Work
Ground work can established more focused line of communication between you and your horse. I use groundwork that encourages the use of body language. I believe this creates a connection from the horse's mind to its feet. Groundwork can also be like stretching for a horse -- it warms their muscles and clears their mind which establishes a better connection between horse and rider. I also use classic training techques including ground driving and bitting. Everytime you are in your horse's prescence you are training. Become a better leader for your horse and your horse will feel comfortable and safe in this relationship.
